All there albums have had the radio rock singles, and they are usually the worst songs on the album (Fallen, Cape of Our Hero, etc.), and those types of songs do seem to make up the bulk of the album, but they aren't as bad as the radio songs of the last couple of albums IMO.
My main criticism is there's nothing on this album that hasn't been done before - I wish there was more variety.
And while this album is light on the country and metal, it's high on the rockabilly - it still sounds like Volbeat. It was their unique blend of rockabilly/country/rock with metal that did it. The metal part of Volbeat is never the component that drew me to the band, as they were never a metal band. The CDs first single, 'The Devils Bleeding. There are some cool mid tempo songs that I really like. Since Volbeat is such an influential, hardcore band, let’s rank their greatest studio albums of all time, with the help of your votes. Danish/American rock n rollers VOLBEAT will release their sixth full-length album, 'Seal The Deal & Lets Boogie', on June 3 via Republic Records. I'm an older-ish fan, and while there're no truely amazing songs on this album, and there are indeed some instant skips, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. You sound like exactly bitter 80's metal head talking about Metallica when Load was first released. Weve already heard one, very catchy, tune from Volbeat off their upcoming new album, Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie.
